Hi. I've ridden a Big Bear and a Santana CD and think the crank drive will suit my needs better as my area has steep hills. I was a bit concerned to read another thread about water ingress problems with a Big Bear and best practice to change the angle of the cable entering the motor. This got me wondering if there is any advice users can give regarding the Santana CD? Questions:
1. Are there any holes ( maybe near motor or battery or controller) it is recommended to seal?
2. Any other preventative or maintenance advice with this model?

I'm close to ordering a bike so your advice will be welcome.

There is no hole, the motor cable has a proper rubber grommet. Water cannot get inside the crank motor but can get inside the bottom bracket.
If you ride in rain a lot, keep a bit of grease the bottom bracket, behind the cranks.

Generally most eapc's are water proof and like normal bikes are designed to be ridden in all weather, however leaving out in the rain all day or night will show up any weaknesses. CD's and hubs differ cd's tend to be more water tight .Cwah's 48v 09 usb battery became water logged after being left on the bike outside, probably prudent to use a bike cover or other smaller covers for the battery, lcd and throttle. the controller is usually housed in a plastic housing so is generally protected but ensure that there is a drainage hole on the casing bottom. As mentioned in other threads with hubs make sure the motor wire has a loop down and seal the motor phase wire entry/exit axle slot and also may be seal the threads on the disc rotor fixings, the axle also has the plastic or rubber nut cover make sure this is fitted which could also so be packed with grease if you wish to do so. Don,t cycle through deep water.
My BBS CD bb was dry and as new after 1k of riding when I checked so just repacked with grease other wise they are sealed.
