A very happy ending.
The original reason for this thread, was to alert any purchasers who, like myself, believed their machines were on their way to them.
It was only after an enjoyable chat with Phil Ball at New Milton, that the alarm bells began ringing. At that time I wasn't even sure if the machines had cleared Customs, when Phil told me they had, then I realised something was wrong.
The next morning, Friday, I 'phoned Stuart Conway of Wisper Bikes Southampton to ask for a delivery date. As a result of the unforeseen glitch in the online purchasing facility, Stuart was unaware that I was still without a machine. Within a couple of hours, Stuart called back and offered to send a machine up the following morning. Unfortunately I was away all weekend and therefore unable to take advantage of this kind gesture. At this point I would like to thank the Wisper sales/service team for their rapid response to this hidden problem, very much appreciated.
Almost two years previously, I had spotted the 905 on Ebay, but at that time I wasn't entirely sure that I would purchase ANY electric bike, so resisted the temptation to click the "Buy it now" button. My retirement in June '07 left me in a huge vacuum, so a couple of near-to-death heavy dual suspension electric bikes were purchased very cheaply on Ebay. Refurbishing these machines to better than new condition gave me the chance to practise my electrical and mechanical skills that I had used during my working life, At the same time, continously following the rapid development of the Wisper 905. The latest revision level seemed to be the mutts nuts, so I decided it was time to join the ranks of the "Wisperers".
The machine arrived Wednesday lunchtime as promised by Phil. First impression is, quite simply, the machine greatly exceeds my expectations. I'm a cautious blighter, so the first couple of rides were around 5 miles. As my confidence in the machine builds, then they will be extended to my preferred 25 mile jaunts. The Wisper is my "posh" bike, and even though Phil Ball assured me the 905 was a pretty tough cookie under the shining paintwork, it will never leave the extensive, smooth tarmac urban routes around Swindon. My rural expeditions will still be the exclusive domain of my two "rough 'n' tumble" long range steel full sussers, but they did have to budge over a bit to make room in the stable for the shiny new thoroughbred!.
Finally, This machine is soooo light!!. With one hand under the junction of top tube/Seat tube, I can easily lift the 905 to waist height, and that's with the battery fitted. Oh!, and thanks for the free "gift", I won't say what it was....they'll all want one!.
Best wishes to all the Wisper team.

PS.
Just got back from a quick 6 mile run this morning in between the showers. Now this is Spooky!. As I turned left at a crossroads, I noticed another bike approaching from the right. Only when I stopped at a junction did he manage to catch up and pulled alongside. It was another Wisper! (almost). He explained he had tried to catch me up to see what I was riding but gave up. I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear, it was a CLONE!!. To which I have to add, this is the first electric bike I can pedal continuously at 20 MPH, the gearing is perfect. Thanks guys, the Wisper 905 is an absolute cracker!.
