Wisper 906 alpino, motor dismantle?

Featured Replies

does anyone know how to get the motor out of the hub on the 906 alpino?

So far I've managed to unscrew the side plate on the right, which gives access to the plane try gears.

But as for the other side, I've had no luck! I can't seem to see anywhere it might open, usually when the plate is threaded on you can tell when you look at it under a magnifier! But this doesn't show!

I can't pull the motor through on the gear side, because of the planetary ring gear around the wheel hub!

I don't normally admit defeat, but this has me stumped, and I need to replace two hall sensors.

Perhaps I'm missing something I dunno. But any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Dee

The axle is just a little tight in its bearing. You support the wheel and tap the end of the axle to knock the whole core out of the hub. If you don't have a plastic or copper mallet, put a block of wood on it that you can hit with a hammer. You need something soft underneath to catch the motor because it often goes when you're least expecting it.

I will takes photos when I go to my garage.

As I said, the planetary ring gear goes around the hub, and the motor is too big to go past this! That's why it's got me stumped! The only other thing I can think is that perhaps the ring is threaded, and maybe comes out on the same thread as the hub shell ? It really is a bloomin puzzle! Lol

Thanks dee

As you can see the drum is too big to go past that ring gear!, help!

Dee

I didn't realise it was a front motor. You have to take the other side off.
