Wisper 706 Alpino - new electric bike

A few teething problems but nothing major. I think the bike is probably a size too big for me but we are trying to work round that. The main question being - how to raise the stem? I want the handlebars higher so that I can sit up straighter!

I managed 171 km on the first two charges - pretty impressive. One passer by thought the battery was a safe!

It is very heavy but once it gets going it runs along very well (without the battery assist) - it is a great boon having the battery - I am now very keen to cycle everywhere in Edinburgh which is pretty hilly.

I have had a slight problem starting on steep hills. I usually start with a quick turn of the throttle (lazy) and then start peddling but on steep hills, when I do that, the battery turns itself off - is this normal?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Marney

I am delighted to read you are enjoying your bike. The cut off is there to save battery power and to avoid over-stressing the motor on very steep start offs, you should start with quick a pedal and then use the throttle.

Regarding the stem, simply push up the lock, lift the lever, adjust to the height you require and lock the lever down again, this action will effectively shorten the bike too.

The new 706Alpino is up on our web site where you will get full information.

All the best
