Has any one bought or tried one of these 705 SE ? as I am thinking of it for my wife.....I have a wisper and reasonably happy with it.

it is a 36v 10amp battery, probably reasonable performance.

your thoughts would be appreciated!

Mmm.....not a popular choice then...probably why they have ended up on e*ay lol

If any one has tried a 705 SE can they confirm that it has or has not, front suspension?

also my wisper 905 SE I believe has lithium polymer battery and the 705 SE has lithium manganese?

Please, whats the difference and which is better?

They are both lithium-ion batteries Eddie, the manganese mentioned on one being the cathode material, safer than the cobalt used earlier, hence the mention.

Lithium Polymer refers to a type of construction of the cell content.

Polymer is increasingly the type of choice since they are usually a little lighter for a given capacity. For example, eZee have two new battery types, both equally good. One is a 4.4 kilo Li-ion, the other a 3.4 kilo Li-poly.

I hadn't realised the 705 had actually finally made it to the UK! It was announced a long time ago but the date kept slipping back. I don't think many of them can have been sold yet, if any.

I would be surprised if the motor and controller are any different from the 905 so if she wants that frame style and you're happy with the way the Wisper works it could be a good choice.

Works 705e

The bike on these photos definitely have a suspension fork but it's not mentioned in the Specs. Drop Wisper a line, they always seem quick to respond on here.

Yes, and the e*ay sellers picture shows the same, but....

The 705SE does not have front suspension neither does 705eco. I have opened a box and checked and called wisper direct. Where have you seen this said otherwise?
The battery is causing some confusion as far as our specs from wisper are concerned is uses Lihium Manganese. However When we opened one up it is showing that it is lithium ION I am waiting for wisper to come back to me regarding this as there is inconsistancies. I will be back to you shortly.

OK, maybe suspension unnecessary weight, but odd that they show pictures with it and bike has not....

Very odd indeed. Would be nice if Wisper could clear it up for us.

There is no confusion Eddie. These lithium batteries are all lithium-ion.

The manganese refers to the cathode material used, this sometimes quoted as a selling point to reassure people who had heard of the fires in the old cobalt cathode batteries.

Lithium polymer are also lithium-ion.

To explain, -ion refers to the chemistry, manganese the material used for the cathode, polymer a type of cell content construction. All different things but all these are Li-ion batteries.

Both Wisper 705 versions, eco and se, have rigid forks on current specifications.

not to say that I am not easily confused by things technical! lol

do you think suspension is unnesesary in this style of bike?

I meant on the subject Eddie :), referring to the packaging and description disparities. I keep posting about this in full because it causes so much confusion.

I don't think utility bikes need suspension and serious road cyclists feel the same but that's personal preferences. In general step-through bikes without suspension are more comfortable than crossbar ones due to the inevitable degree of flexing that takes place.

Gents bike crossbars can be very effective at transferring wheel road shocks right through the bike, and that's particularly true of the e-bikes with sloping crossbars which form a fairly straight line with the rear frame upper tubes. These effectively make a rigid transfer line between both wheels and front suspension can alleviate the effects.

Actually I think a real water bottle on a step through would be fun! :D

Indeed...convenient for keeping a wee nip of "the water of life" in it..

...to help get over the shock of having the darn thing on the bike in the first place:)
