Hi all, introducing myself as I await delivery of my new e-bike tomorrow.

So, what have you bought yourself, I hear you ask? Well, I am soon to be the proud owner of #1398 of the A-bike Electric (yes, Clive Sinclair's tiny folding bike re-imagined as a 24v pedelec citybike).

No idea how this is going to work out. There are very few recent reviews of A-bike online and no user reviews I could find of the electric version. On the other hand, for road only occasional use with the pedelec assist, along with being able to fold the bike into a backpack or transport it in the boot of my RX8, it looks like an ideal solution.

(And I have a soft spot for Sinclair-related transport. I've got a 24v converted C5 car in my shed...)

Anyway, wish me luck - I hope it turns out to be all I dream, rather than all I fear.

Are you male or female Airwheeluser?

Riding one of these, it could be an important factor. :D

Well, first day of using the A-bike Electric. It arrived this morning. In adding the motor they've added some weight, but along with the other improvements they have made sense of the original version. Pedelec means you can get uphill and along normal roads (even the customary potholes and poor surfaces of Bolton and Wigan). TBH it's a little heavy to carry for any long distance, even using the supplied bag with shoulder strap. Might be better with a padded backpack. Otherwise, I think it's great, really robustly made and quirky in design. If you were to regard it as "Sinclair's second attempt at an electric personal transport" then it's a much more successful approach to the brief than the old C5 - it is actually useable day to day.

Oh my, never seen anything quite like it myself. Just watched one of the Promo ads, so I can see the appeal for short hops around a city :) The wheels are uber small -but it does look cute and quirky at the same time. Hope it works out well for you.
