What's wrong with the original one?

moved house from one area to onther area load of stuff went to tip and I paid a firm to do all the work as part disabled but looks like it was bined by the firm as no where to be seen

If you told us what voltage your bike is, we could be more informative I feel.
But ebay has many, usually cheap and cheerful, so cut the mains when the battery is full. A cheap 2 hour mechanical timer, rewired to shut itself off is one way to go.
There are really good (very expensive) chargers that look after the battery at all times, but cost as much as a good bike secondhand!
Its a question of finances.
I hope that you got something back on the insurance for the move!

Agreed. That is why the OP should contact Whyte for advice as I suggested in post #4.

It'll be the Shimano E6010 drive system. Chargers look to be about £136 online from reputed sellers.
