Which tuning kit?

Been watching this forum for a while so now coming to the surface. I have ordered a Giant Quick E hybrid bike, I want to tune it for use "On private land with owners permission". I can see a couple of options by Badass and Speedbox, has anyone had both and can tell me the merits of each? I'll be cycling through the winter so weather resistance is a consideration.

I can only comment on the Badass that I fitted to my Bosch-equipped Ortler. It's expensive (£115) and the displayed speed and distance covered on the odometer are halved, but it simply works! It took me about 2 minutes to fit it and that was it. My German isn't brilliant - the instructions are not translated - but I think it says it's water resistant rather than waterproof. The case is designed so that water will drop off it rather than into the sensitive areas. I'll give it a good go over the winter and I suspect all will be well.
