Hi
Are Tongxin motors comming in both 24 and 36v version for any specific rpm version? Can the 160, 175 and 190rpm versions be had in both a 24v and a 36v version?

thx CJ

Yes 24v/36v in all RPM models.

Are you looking at 24v ones ?

I am pretty sure most applications I have seen, favour 24v (***Edit I mean 36v). There was a guy on here who posted that he had a 24v one and over volted it to 33v

He said it was fine but not sure I would risk it.

PS When I last spoke to EWC some while back they had a spare 24v 260RPM Tongxin that they said they would make up in a 16" wheel for me for about £300. As I recall it was in a 20" wheel when I saw it.

Regards

Jerry

Thing is I have a 36v 10 amp battery from an earlier setup that will be used. So I guess the 36v versions will be more powerfull in some way, well I hope its an option anyway. And I hope 190rpm/700c wheel is not too bad for driving against the wind and modest hillclimping.
Thx,
CJ

I used the 190 rpm/700 wheel on my Cytronex powered by a 36v 6 A[ I think] battery. This gave the bike an electrically powered top speed of around 18 mph and climbed hilly Winchester with ease. I tried the 175 rpm wheel but other than a lesser top speed I didn't notice any difference on the inclines.

I can't think of anything in a motor which would distinguish it between 24v and 36v. Many manufacturers specify more than one voltage for the same motor. What limits a motor's use is generally the amount of heat it can shed.

Maybe the number of windings used for a given motor speed?
