Which Kit?

Finding my (electric) wheels

I sucessfully converted my Tek 830 MTB with a kit from Electric Bike Conversions in 2017 and would now like to convert my Dawes Audax bike. Being a light touring / road bike with 700c wheels and 25 / 28 tyres with drop handle bars I'm looking for something less bulky than the Trek conversion but with good range of say 50 to 60 miles. As my main bike I've long been considering such a conversion but have found it difficult to find a suitable kit and I'm hoping with the passing of time there may by now be something that would do the job - any ideas appreciated?

Been looking at Swytch but not sure their wheels will fit my lighter road bike or have the range I'm looking for - any comments / experience with these kits?

There is Cytronex (https://www.cytronex.com/), expensive and I haven't tried it. Somewhat special parts, so could be complicated a few years down the line.

Also I think Woosh has some light conversion based on Q70. I can't speak for that kit, but Woosh give very good customer service, and the parts are pretty standard so should be easily fixable after a few years. No availability right now. Look at https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?hubkits and search for 'which motor?'

Cytronex is very over-priced for what it is. Avoid a front motor on a light bike like that. They can make the handling a bit weird.

I'd get a Q100c (AKA AKM100C, QQ100c depending on supplier). Available from BMSbattery, Greenbikekit, Topbikekit, etc., then look for a lightish downtube battery no more than 40 cells.

For the distance you want, I would suggest the 85SX kit or the XF08C with 17AH downtube battery. The Aikema 85SX motor is very quiet and lightweight (2kgs).
