Hi Folks

I have recently purchased a new Carera Vulcan mountain bike with a view to converting it, It will mostly be used for an off road commute of circa 9miles each way.

My question is... With a budget of upto £700 which is best, I have been looking at the Dilinger 1000watt, 10Ah kits?

Advice Appreciated

Cheers

Paul

Those 1000w motors are very heavy. Have you got room in the triangle for the battery? If you have to put the battery on a rack, handling will be compromised.

I reckon 18 miles with that battery and motor is going to be pretty tight to say the least. They're not very efficient unless you can keep it spinning at at least 50% of its maximum, which means that you'll be going fast enough to use the battery quickly.

You'd be better of telling us your weight, what type of hills you expect to encounter and how fast you want to go, then someone can point you at a suitable kit.

You need to measure the space in your triangle to see if a frame-mount battery will fit. A sideways mounting bottle battery should fit, but I don't know about a normal battery or one of those pod types because they need extra room to be removed. It was a shame you didn't get the Kraken, which had a bigger triangle.

Hello Nice to see you here. I come from XOFO motor, we are manufacturer of electrical bike motors. We send you samples in 2013, it would be much appreciated if you remember us.
