Kuenteng /KT 15a or 17a 36/48v dual voltage controller kit, cost about £100. Topbikekit or their store on Aliexpress. get everything you need so add a lcd display, pas , throttle and e brakes.

I was wondering about this, see if I can find a knackered 705 on eBay/ marketplace and see what I could do with it. Does anyone know what motor it is and if it would take a 48v battery/ controller. I guess a new LCD display too

It doesn't matter what motor it is, they all work the same and can all work with 48v. Wisper bikes are not bad, but there's nothing special in them. Any electric bike should give you what you want. Get one with disc brakes. A cheaper one would give you more money for upgrades, like hydraulic brakes and decent gears. All are interchangeable.
