Interesting. Makes you wonder whether you got a QC fail or a good one, when you bought your battery online.

I got mine from Billy Milburn near Durham almost three years ago. He assembles his own batteries. I think he is a trustworthy sort of chap.

I have no idea.

My battery's BMS has a small green "Q.A. PASS" sticker - undoubtedly a certain sign of A grade quality, which can be trusted absolutely.

I could delve into mine and see if I can find such a sticker. The stuff inside the battery is all wrapped up in a sort of amber coloured plastic film - quite thick - a bit like acetate film. I have never actually seen my BMS, though I think it will be on the top of the cells. I am not in a hurry to go there though.

After watching that video, I'm not at all happy about the BMS being stuck under my battery using foam - I'm quite tempted to remove the BMS using dental floss (to saw through the foam), and secure a large piece of aluminium sheet under the whole of that that side using layers of heat-resistant foam tape, to more evenly distribute heat, then stick the BMS onto the aluminium sheet using heat conductive CPU heatsink adhesive and heat resistant Kapton tape. I could also stck heat insulating fibreglass sheet between the aluminium sheet and the cells. I'll measure the cell banks again at some point, trace the wires, to see if the bank or banks under the BMS are charging at a lower voltage than the others. If those cells haven't been degraded by heat after over three years of use, I'll probably leave the BMS as is.
