I have a vita uno (basically a kudos) 26" mountain bike style ebike with the hub moter in the rear wheel,

I have a broken spoke and need a replacement but my local cycle shop seems to be having trouble locating one.

its 2.23 mm dia spoke thicker than normal non e bike spoke not too sure on length required

thanks all

If you bought it from a retailer, my first thought is get in touch with them, and ask kindly if they might have a spare (hoping they will ring the manufacturer and get one sent to you or similar)? Unless your bike is over six years old, there are potentially contractual issues here about the retailer seeing you right, so if they can't find a spoke, then they could be on the hook for a lot of money. They don't want that so they need to be able to at least give you the information you need. In any case it always pays to be kind and offer to pay them the few quid it costs.

When a spoke broke in the back wheel of my Woosh Santana, I had five replacements (paid for) within a day or so, thanks to Helpful Hatti. I only used one - I still have the other four! If you take one out of the wheel and measure it, it will make it easier to search for a replacement. EBay is a good start. I have just bought some for a wheel build of a geared hub. I would recommend lubricating both ends of the spokes with an oily spray (not WD40) as it seems to help them move about in the hub and rim.
