When you go fast on a bike......

I keep reading about people for whom the 15 mph cut-off on ebikes isn't enough and it makes me wonder why they don't ride 2-wheelers better suited to higher speeds.

Cycling at higher speeds increases all the risks involved exponentially and in extreme cases almost certainly means very serious injury or death as in the case of this young fellow.

Unfortunately more a case of rider error than speed, he may or may not have been able to avoid the car at lower speed, but it was also a race.

It was a tragic accident but nothing in that article will stop me from trying to reach the magic 50 mph. If I manage it I won't be on the wrong side of the road and I won't be in a big group racing.
