What would you consider a classic ebike or future classic?

Seeing someone mention a Giant Revive EB got me wondering what would deserve to be called a classic or a future classic? Can you think of any? Do any even deserve the accolade? Is the industry to immature? I know EVs go back to the nineteenth century, maybe there's a really old classic. The Swizzbee, the Ezee Torq and the original Gocycle come to mind but I must defer to the old codgers on here...

The Giant Lafree Twist Lite from 2001 to 2006 was widely regarded as a classic. It was the first e-bike that was truly bicycle like and could be ridden without the power switched on. On leaving home I always rode mine that way until reaching the first hill. They were still fetching high second hand prices years after Giant discontinued them after they'd never been able to make a profit on them at marketable prices.

It's the second one shown on this History page on my Lafree website.

Like the Revive it also used the Panasonic crank drive motor.

I'd also second the original Ezee Torq. With its 22 mph assist power it was the first to bring high speed performance to e-biking at an affordable price and was hugely popular in 2006 and 2007. I've a website on that too. At one point in the early days of this forum 38% of the members owned a Torq.

That doesn't include the Torq 2 which had the speed capability removed and many other changes. A good e-bike, but more ordinary.

Nice site. I think you've overdone the image downscaling and compressing (would like to see clearer pics) but I dare say you have good webmastery reasons for doing so, like keeping bandwidth down.

One bike I'd like to own if I was a rich collector is one of those KTMs with the rear 48v Panasonic hub motors like the erace.

Just back from the pub on my 2014 KTM eRace P! Still highly recommended and working just as well up the hills as when I first got it :)
