What's the alternative to going for a ride when the weather's naff? Dust off the vinyl LP's and relive the good old days lol. It doesn't get any better than this:

The sound of vinyl beats FLAC and MP3 any day :)

When it comes to Manilow, compression and removal of both extraneous and audible data is my preferred way to listen.

I gradually sold all my vinyl from the mid 80's when i started buying CD's. Mostly to a record shop in Bristol called Plastic Wax Records. Every time i wanted a new CD, i would chop in a few LP's towards it. Of course, i can now buy CD's for peanuts on the net. We were really overcharged for music back in the day.
I dont miss the crackles and scratches of vinyl and still prefer CD's over downloads........ As for the resurgence of vinyl i',m happy to leave it to the hipsters, they're welcome to pay the extra for it.

Yer not wrong. Was in HMV the other day, and some of the albums were 20 quid plus. I balk at the cost of FLAC downloads these days, but as you say, at least they are free from crackles and pops lol.

I've even heard reports of cassettes making a resurgence..... WTF!
Now they really should be left to history....... although i do have fond memories of the huge ghetto blaster i used to own in the early 80's.

The only thing cassettes were good for, was recording your mates albums and taping the top 20 on sunday evenings on R1.
Those were the days when we were warned..... 'Home taping is killing the music industry'

I bought a load of fancy tapes (chrome oxide or lead oxide?) because my tape deck supported them, sounded no different and they were twice the price!.

Spent a small fortune in the Sony shop on a MiniDisc HiFi and a MiniDisc walkman, also had a MiniDisc head unit in the car, to be fair that was a good system.

Remember seeing a digital laserdisc, a cd the size of an album with a film on it.

This morning, I asked my wife "What's the weather forecast love?"

She said "It's 16C."

I said "Is it going to rain soon?"

Her "I don't think so."

Me, 3.5 miles away, 20 minutes later, hiding under a tree!..

I waited half an hour, then got drenched making a break for it.

I road home from work in the rain tonight in a t shirt, normally waterproof up but it was quite refreshing for a change!.

Was out on a motorbike this afternoon, brand new back and greasy roads were "interesting"...
