That Montague Paratrooper would make a nice "stealth" type ebike. If the batteries and controller could be fitted inside the big top tube, then with a small hub motor it would be difficult to distinguish it as being power assisted.

it's really pushing at the barriers of possibility, although it would be easy just to have a 5 kg battery in a backpack for the Montagu one. definitely looks like a *real* folding bike. you could have a full power bionx motor and it would be invisible...

.....Speak of their Devil! It's a Biontague!!!
Powerful Combination: Montague Folding Bike + Bionx Electric Conversion : MetaEfficient.
Might just be the birth of an obsession. About 20 kg with the motor and batteries. would be good to have one with a rotating red emergency light like they have no submarines to add to the army aspect. However there seems to be one fishy sticking point in this so far-it might just be one of those things where they have a monopoly on the UK marketus montague seems to be cheaper abroad. 440usd vs 450gbp=scandal...

They did indeed, it made sense then, but these days when 4 wheel drive vehicles which are more capable are 'chute dropped as well, bikes make no sense.

it's good if you're digesting beefburgers, and are on a stealth mission in a hardpacked desert. for any other terrain, soldiers should be jogging. to be honest I've just found a video of the bike folding and its like a hinge, if you see it folded lengthwise it can't actually fold flat because the back wheel is stuck in the middle of the hinge-it might be a bit of a gimmick and alot other full-size folding bikes are a lot better.

One wheel has to be taken off the Montague to fold it fully, and that makes it very inconvenient for some things. Ok for a car boot or caravan, but if I'd just landed in enemy territory, playing at bike mechanics isn't the first thing I'd want to do. The other military rule it breaks when ridden is putting the soldier up high, easier target to hit.

No good in mud, loose sand, or on boulder strewn land, but just brilliant for missing the tell-tale signs of a land mine implant. BANG!!!! :(

I love the third picture, with the soldier (or should it be model) sheltering behind the bike, presumably from a hail of AK47 fire. :D
