Hi, Im looking for one or two folding electric bikes to take away in a caravan. Ideally bikes should be in good condition both mechanically and cosmetically. I would like a 20" or more wheel but no smaller than 16" I am a big person at 100KG so I know Im pushing the boundary of technology!
I live in Hertfordshire but I am prepared to travel or can arrange collection if you can arrange packing.
Finally, Im as tight as a ducks wotsit, so please ensure its a good price. Please put your LOWEST PRICE as I will not haggle with you and I dont want you to price yourself out of contention! JUST PUT YOUR LOWEST/BEST PRICE, then I can decide if Im interested or not. Please also give a good description.
Thank you and I hope we can do business.
Many Thanks, Jon.

In all honesty I believe a normal full sized ebike will be easier to get in and out of a caravan than an awkward wide and heavy folded ebike, and I speak from experience.

Re Folding Bike

In all honesty I believe a normal full sized ebike will be easier to get in and out of a caravan than an awkward wide and heavy folded ebike, and I speak from experience.
Im unsure what sort of Caravan you have had, but getting 2 Standard bikes through that small door is going to be like asking a Gynocologist to work with a pair of Boxing Gloves! There are other considerations too, like the damage they may cause getting them into the Caravan. Also, Caravans are not made to carry this type of goods, its going to be difficult to secure them not to mention the weight, some full size Electric Bikes weigh in excess of 30-40KG whereas a light weight folding bike can be less than 25kg.

I have made my choice on my needs and not the needs of others. I have some 25years experience of Caravanning, Motorcycling and a good 50yrs of cycling. I dont know where you would suggest I sleep en-route to southern Spain with 3 or 4 over night stops en-route? Caravans are of course subject to weight limits and as they have got lighter the weight limits have also reduced. Caravans cost anything from £50 to £35,000 and to put 2 large bikes through those doors 32times on a two week holiday, something is going to get damaged!

My decision was also based on my disability & my needs, dictated by my transport & the given space available and my caravan. I have tried stowing full size bikes in a caravan in the past and it just did not work for me. Also, given that the margins of 'Payload' are so low, and as in my case, two full size bikes would make towing my Caravan illegal not to mention dangerous. The bikes will be carried in or on the car, securely and safely.

Despite my years of experience Caravanning, Motorcycling, Cycling & Holidaying in Europe, I would always listen to advice, and perhaps give advice, but I would never suggest to anyone that they are buying the wrong equipment without knowing the person or the full facts.

I am no expert, but I know a considerable amount about my own specific needs through listening to others, my own experiences and knowledge. The one thing I have learnt in life, is generally those who know best, generally know the most about nothing!

I thought it would be a good idea to buy secondhand, perhaps I should bite the bullet and buy new? However, I think I will stick with the Electric Folding Bike and see what is out there.

In my experience most people join this forum to learn from others or to share information rather than to brandish the immutable decisions they have already made.

Not to worry, I'm certain those offers of bikes tailored to your exact needs will soon be flooding in. No need to look on eBay or visit any shops.
