Today's "You and Yours" program on BBC Radio 4 contained an item of a neat way to deal with telephone cold callers.
The man concerned managed to get an 0871 number allocated and directed to his usual home phone number, and from then on only gave the 0871 number to commerce of any kind to get that into commercial listings.
He gets 10p per minute on those incoming cold calls and to date has earned over £300. Of course the cold callers are learning and the number of those calls have drastically declined, causing him to laughingly comment he now wants more cold calls!
Of course few of us would go to such trouble, but we can take pleasure from his successful way of getting his own back on these pests.
