Upstate NY Tongxin Convs

Featured Replies

Hi! I'm Larry Toole and am converting my Next Beach Cruiser to an electric bike hopefully. I ordered a Tongxin 180 Watt 24v 9.9A from BikeWagon on eBay. Ordered a 24v Controller for this Sensorless hub roller motor on eBay from bobzhangxu which I regret. It is only 10 Amp which he assured me is plenty. Against my better judgement I believed him, but when I asked him for advice on a throttle he told me he is not a tech and can't help, he just wholesales for somebody. I had heard of the Tongxin controller falures and should not have bit but I was in a hurry (mistake).

Can anybody help me with what kind of throttle I need for this 3-wire only sensorless motor? Would any 3 wire eBike controller work. This is no Hall Effect with only 3 wires coming out right?

Thanks for your help, I need to get the throttle soon as motor is coming on the 6th and I want to make sure it works!

When they say that the controller is a 10amp controller, like the motor, that's the rated current, which means the current that it'll give all day without overheating. It's actual maximum current will be about double - hopefully, more than enough for your motor.
