hi all been using my vita uno/kudos mtb for last 2 years hardly ever use my spec sirrus elite.
so added a ebc kit to sirrus.

couple of weeks back purchased a decathlon full sus mtb about 35lbs at a guess for pootling about on summer days.

took the decathlon out the other day local track slightly down hill about 3 miles , on the return used a tarmac cycle track and found it hard work doing 7/8 mph on the flat.

ended up cycling for a bit ,pushing bike and cycling somemore took ages to get home.

I then tried local hill and did not make it to the top, a return steep slope I came to a standstill.

finding this a bit baffling did have hard tail merida mtb about 4 years ago that got stolen did not stuggle on that bike.

tried decathlon in local wooded downhill trail great fun , it was pushing most of the mile to get there which was not.

I know people have gone from unpowered to ebike power.

have others found it hard to ride unpowered I will never get up a hill on the full sus

thank you

I really enjoy getting out on the Ultra 1964 hardtail, and try to ride it at least once a week.

Not sure that I could currently complete a 32 mile rides such as this http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/another-dirty-weekend.23956/ at the moment though, as my knee pain/muscle wastage seems to be flaring up again.

In many respects the pedal mtb is far more satisfying to ride, although conditions here do need to improve to make things slightly easier.

The Ultra weighs roughly 11.8kg, and is easily my favourite bike. :) The hardtail emtb isn't so far behind though in the agility stakes.

I suspect once you,ve had any amount of time on an ebike mtb ( especially cd) you,ll find ordinary very hard work.
You can train and work hard on ebike but you develop different physically...its more cardio and less fast twitch...I,ve lost 6lbs on ebike in under a month and resting heart rate has come down to a similar level to when I was jogging lots.
Had a go on my ordinary mtb,s last week, hated both of them...Both my hardtail and full suspension felt heavy , dead and hard work...
Missed the alive feeling ebikes have.. Hills felt and looked longer and took for ever to get up them..
Cant see me ever using non ebike mtb...except if I flatten battery !!!

There is a difference in full susp and hardtail for climbing but I couldn't really feel much difference now...I,ve been corrupted...

Flud, I found the same.
I had to take my son in law's non e bike back from my house to his. Even though the hill I live on is not very steep, the effort of climbing it ruined the whole experience for me
