if the rim has holes for the spokes then use the rim tape otherwise it will all leak out.

my rims have no spoke holes so not needed.

if the tyres are a loose fit then add more rim tape as will help to seal them on to the rim when inflating.

Well that went well. Oh wait, I mean the opposite. Bead sealed ok but got leaking around a few spokes. I cleaned the rim with alcohol and made sure the tape was pressed firmly down. Guess its gonna get messy now starting again.
Any hints as to where I might have gone wrong and what to do next time?

you need to pull the tape tight when you apply it to the rim like electrical tape and go round a few times pressing it down as you go so the spoke holes are all sealed.

you could off broke the tape when fitting the tyre so be careful

I'll go round twice next time. Worried it might be too thick. Not looking forward to taking the tire off with the sealant inside

i just remove the valve cores and use that to top up so no need to brake the seal and no mess about 60mm each wheel.

you will find over 3-4 months it will all dry up anyway so needs topping up.
