Dear Pro's,

Please help me to choose a battery for TSDZ2 750W 48V. I would like to have the safest choice possible (safety and lifetime of the battery).
If I understand correctly, TSDZ2 has max 18A. I might play with the firmware later, but apparently TSDZ2 cannot go above 23-25A.
I was looking into 12Ah battery pack with VTC6, but the more I read, the more I understand that VTC6 might not be wisest choice, as it is expensive and likely to be an overkill option for such a gentle motor. Is my thinking correct?

EM3EV lists the following options:
Panasonic PF: ~23A Continuous, 30A Max Burst Current
Samsung 30Q: ~30A Continuous, 55A Max Burst Current
LG HG2: ~35A Continuous, 55A Max Burst Current
Samsung 35E: ~20A Continuous, 27A Max Burst Current
Samsung 25R: ~39A Continuous. 55A Max Burst Current

What option should I go with? Or should I just go ahead with VTC6 and enjoy long battery life as well as its reliability (if ignoring the part "expensive")?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

VTC6 a legendary cell, will run cool so no problem at your requirements but as you mention over kill for your needs. A waste of good cells that can handle up to 25/30a on there own. Capacity retention at 700 cycles about 5% less then HG2.

PF good power from these cells even at low voltage, they sag a bit under load but hold the voltage rock steady when they do and rebound very strongly (This is my experience of them with my 23 -25a KT controller).

Capacity retention after 700 cycles is about 78% compared to the best cells at 92.5%.
For a value cell up there for the money and how many will actually get 700 cycles from their battery ?
At the price point only the 29E7 is better though a lesser power cell it has great cycle life but needs at least six in parallel for your needs.

30Q not much better then PF life cycle wise, they were designed for power tool high current discharge and though are ok in bike batteries there have been known issue with cell self discharge as noted by the guys using them on ES. The cell is about double the £££ of a PF. 30Q declines very quickly after about 50 - 100 cycle charges

LG HG2 genuine cells are a legend of a cell, they hold up with less voltage sag of any of the 20a+ cells,. Capacity decline on a graph is very linear and very steady and deserves it legendary status, no wonder these aren't cheap to buy. No more to say.

Samsung 35E an ok cell low power cell, doesn't like high discharge and sag will be poor. It is a high capacity cell but not a high current one.

Samsung 25R is a legendary cell why have 2500mah cells when you can have 3000mah HG2 and more mah.

If the price fits I would use HG2 or 25R. For a budget performance cell based on price then PF, but that's only my personnel opinion.
Personally the 25R was the one and be all go for cell but there are now other 2900mah/3000mah options available, one cell not used worth anyone's £££'s LG is the top LG MJ1.

Do your homework visit ES and various vapes sites for cell info and performance, don't just rely on what I or others say without doing the research.

Nealh, thanks a million for your comprehensive advise! Much appreciated!
HG2 cells cost almost the same as VTC6 (based in Europe).

I will therefore go with VTC6. If I upgrade to a more thirsty mid drive some time in future, I could use the same VTC6 battery. Currently, I will just have a peace of mind knowing that I got legendary cells that, if properly taken care, will serve me for at least 3-4 years. I also might ride the bike in colder temperatures, VTC6 certainly is a good choice for winter as well.
