Most regular readers is this forum know that I use my own product...an interesting point about these Lithium batteries. My Kudos Secret bikes have an 8 Ah LiMn04 battery, the batteries are left for long periods uncharged but never allowed to completely discharge.
After 3 months of non usage we charged the batteries to what we thought was full( the charger showed green),normally this would be good for 20 plus miles but I only got 12 miles out of both bikes....the batteries are now 4 years old ....I thought that the batteries were finally on the way out and time to blag a couple of new batteries, both bikes performed similarly.
But on the next charge up,the charger took much longer to go green, clearly the batteries took more power and I was back to normal 20 plus miles, subsequent recharges were the same.
Not a chemical engineer but it appeared that on the first charge after a long period the batteries did not take a full charge.....do these batteries 'go to sleep' if left unused for a long period?
Yes I use my own product, did a 100 plus miles on my little Secret bike in a week, mostly on the flat on mid PAS position,in the hot weather it is nice to go along quicker without 100% effort but still some fitness.
Who named a dongle ,it sounds a description of something rude, hehe!!!

Now there's a question. Computer dongles were first I think. Was it Martin that first called the gadget dongle I wonder?

I left my iPod unused for two or three years.

It was properly dead when I tried to fire it up and wouldn't play even when plugged into a usb socket.

However, after several long charges it appears to be back to normal.

No idea of the chemistry, but I was quite impressed given that I had treated it exactly how you are supposed not to.

quite a few batteries do that. The BMS is powered by just one block of cells in the 10 block string. After a few months, the battery is out of balance, the block feeding the BMS has run down much more than the other 9.
At the end of the first charge, the battery starts its balancing which it completed only at the second charge in your case. The battery gets back its normal capacity after the second charge when balancing is finished.
