Hi all,

New to this Pedelec lark - and recumbents too - I bought Cyclezee's recumbent trike conversion from him a few weeks ago and have gradually been getting used to the combo since - the weather etc hasn't been as condusive as it might be yet - but still done a few commutes etc and it's a lot more enjoyable than it used to be on an upwrong! I try and do as much of the work as I can - but it's great having a bit of assistance on the way home (it's uphill most of the way!!) and the average speed is about the same as on a DF bike - but without the sweatiness! The grin factor is pretty big too - particularly downhill:D

Hi Pemsey,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm glad to hear the trike is doing the business and you have experienced the "Big grin factor"

I tried to put you on the Pedelec map, but it is struggle with slow slow internet connection in eastern Iceland:(

Hi,
Hope you're getting better weather in Iceland than we are here! If this rain carries on I'll need to do a bit more waterproofing on the electrics!

I've made a few mods to the trike - also repositioned the Cycleanalyst as it didn't seem to like the vibrations where it was - the A5 is a bit bumpier than the redways! A large pipeclip and it's now on the main boom under the just in front of the seat - not as visible either so the e-kit is a bit less prominent.
Seem to have plenty of range - round trip (scenic route on the way home) of about 32 miles uses about 9-10 Ah - not bad given the combined weight of trike, rider and kit - and the fact it's uphill most of the way home! I might be in touch about a second battery though to give extra range if I decide to do long runs - uphill with no power though do-able is a bit of a slog!!

I did have a problem with the Cycleanalyst as it kept resetting after about 10.5 miles - apparently it was a known bug which the very helpful guy (Justin) at Ebikes.ca told me how to fix - I only noticed it because I've been keeping a close eye on battery useage/mileage during the early runs I've done.

Cheers

P.
