Hi new to this site and have tried posting a couple of times but it has disappeared I think... hopefully I am not including any spammy content.
I have been looking at ebikes again today - seen a Trek Verve 4 and a Ridgeback Cyclone. Does anyone have any experience of these - the spec is almost identical except they use different drive units - Bosche and Shimano Steps E-6100 respectively.
Any advice gratefully received thanks

I have a Trek Verge + 2 500WH which I purchased over 3 months ago, which is very similar to the Verge 4. I like it mainly because it is a step through and me being in my sixes it is easy for me to get on and off. I use for exercise and I have done just over 500 miles without any major problems. I have only had few minor issues. One being, it was slipping gears which just required chain adjustment. Two, it has very occasionally had no power assist, for example after going over a bump but it is just matter switching it on and off on the display. I have the same issue with my other bike but it happens more often, almost very ride. The verge being being hybrid bike has nearly twice the range of my other bike. The supplied lock, when not locked, the key cannot be removed and sticks out. I somehow managed to snap the key, leaving the rest of the key in the lock so I just removed the whole lock from the bike. My other bike is a mountain bike with a rear wheel motor.

The rear motor feels like it pushes you where as the verve feels more natural and balanced, like a normal bike but easier to cycle.

If I were to choose which of motor is best for cycling, I like both but slightly prefer the mid motor and its easier to fix any rear wheel punctures.

Mid motors are harder on chains, so I lubricate and clean it more often and monitor the chain with a chain wear tool.

Overall I am very happy with the bike.
