My 2017 Raleigh Strada TSE has been a fab bike, but age and wear & tear have finally worn away the rubber buttons on the handlebar remote, rendering the bike difficult to use without a lot of fiddling about. I would like to replace the remote, but every e-bike dealer I've looked at online that stocks TranzX has sold out. Does anyone here know where you can source TranzX parts for the Strada TSE?

I have a TranzX driven e-bike too. AFAIK nobody in the UK supports TranzX anymore, but they're still big in Germany and have a parts and distribution centre there.

They likely won't deal direct with you, but it'd be worth emailing/calling to see if they still make and/or have stock, which you could then probably order through a UK dealer like the electricbikeshop who did once sell/stock them.

That display is more commonly referred to as a DP15 - JD's should confirm if Raleigh had them modified for their own ebikes as W16, or if that's just a stock number Raleigh assigned. The DP27 would be better (adds speed and range) and can likely be substituted.

Thanks for the pointer, but I've tried them and they have sold out too. I find it very odd that there are seemingly no spare e-bike parts for this model. It feels like Raleigh only built about a couple of dozen!

I know it doesn't help, but we always warn people off these types of bikes with proprietary systems. This is the problem you get years down the line, when fashions have changed. Best is unlocked systems with standard Chinese parts, next, if you must have a locked systen, is Bosch. After that, it's a lottery. Anything niche is a disaster.

Unfortunately most guys go into an ebike shop to buy an ebike without knowing any of this. They try the bike out. It goes well, so they buy it, then, a few years later, they need a new battery and find out that it costs more than what the bike's worth, or they need a new part that is simply not available. Think about all those poor guys, who succumbed to the Gtech marketing. They got batteries that didn't last long, only to find that there were no spares when they needed one.

You need to remember what other mid-drive bikes were around 8 years ago in 2017; an e-bike with the Bosch mid-motor was then about £600 more and sounded as loud and as rough as a milk float... IMO, the TranzX M16GT used on the Strada is far smoother... and quieter... and cheaper.

The Raleigh Strada TSE was very popular in it's day: The DP15 display the OP needs is still being used on the Raleigh Stow-e-way - which Raleigh are still selling - so it's possible TranzX may remake if it's currently out of stock (TranzX seem to be holding parts/stock of much older ebike components of theirs).
