I also had full battery on my display and was still registering speed? This has happened on and off recently its driving me nuts lol! when i pedal with no assist there is no noise from motor.Any help appreciated ! I am not technically minded and had conversion done by someone its a MTB 29er converted. Thanks!

It looks to me that your torque sensor is faulty. Incidentally, I use the throttle all the time on mine as I find the torque sensor only tiring, so I could live with it faulty.

That happens when you switch on with weight on a pedal. Is that what you're doing? You have to switch on when the pedals have no feet or other force on them because there's an initialising calibration of the torque sensor immediately after you switch on.

+1 to what @saneagle says - as someone who has a TSDZ2, I got caught out with this 'not waiting' or starting with 'pedal pressure' etc.

The initialising takes, 3, maybe 4 seconds at the most. I use the VLCD6 display and on powering on, the display doesn't initially show the full battery level - when it does it is at that point that I consider it ok to pedal off.

Check your wheel speed sensor /magnet spacing .

  • The OP said that speed was still being registered.
  • When my sensor/magnet has become mis-aligned, after a few minutes riding (with power) the display shows an error code (can't remember the number?) but until the error code appears, the motor runs ok
  • I'm running OSF so maybe these things differ with OEM firmware?
