Hi there. Would be glad if anyone could give me a clue about my problem. I bought a Tongsheng middrive motor in August, 2020.
I had several small issues with the power (I remembered about them today)but nothing significant.
Today I wanted to ride my ebike again and had no power in the crank at all. Dead. It was working perfect last time a rode it and today, after charging my battery, no power at all.
I know the problem is not the battery because, as I have a VLCD6 display, I used the uphill assistance feature of it by pressing the up arrow on the display for 5 secs and it works. There was power in the motor. And the motor was pushing uphill/forward. But when I start pedaling there is no power in the crank whatsoever. I read that it could be because of the speed sensor, but the speed displayed is perfect. Don't know for this display how to check the torque readings (I saw someone found how to do that for VLCD5 display, couldn't find anything for my display). Any clue of what could have happened. Thanks a lot for any answer.

What voltage battery and motor are you using?
I have a a similar issue with a 750w TSDZ2 and 48v battery. Fully charged the 48 battery is above 54v. Until the voltage is below 53v the motor unit does not work.

It's a 48V battery and a 750W motor, indeed. Good point mate. It was charged just before this ride. I will look into this aspect. Thanx a lot. Coming back with a feedback. Ready to pay a coffee for helping me if you are right. And I have the feeling you are right, 'cause I remember having the same issue, not to this level, after charging the battery in the past. Thanx once again.

I have to discharge my fully charged 48v battery on another bike (BBS02), before using it on the TSDZ2

Yup, you were right. I discharged it a bit by using the uphill assistance feature used when doing pushbike. Really appreciate your help. If ever you travel to Romania (we have some nice mountains around where I live, perfect for wonderful bike rides), let me know. I have to keep my promise. You can find me here. Cheers, mate. https://www.facebook.com/remus.dan.7/
