Reading of the problems other makes seem to have, I must say that in the 2,000 miles I have now done on my Enduro, the only things to go wrong were my fault.
1 The plastic chain guard snapped when I tried changing from second to fifth in one go and the chain came off. Phil sent a much better replacement.
2 The chain began jumping off the rear top gear cog. This is very small with only 11 teeth. Unfortunately, riding along a path, the autumn leaves had fallen and some got caught up in the cogs in such a manner that the chain could not bed completely down into the top gear and so damaged the teeth. A replacement SRAM 11/32 set cost £20 and soon fixed that.
What I like about Tonaro is that they are built substantially, they are simple, the pedelec is just a ring of magnets and a sensor, no complicated, expensive strain sensors.
The speed limiter is simple and can be removed.
Full power is always available via the throttle, no need to match power output with pedalling effort. The pedelec for those like me who do not like them is easily disabled by moving the sensor.
And they are comparatively cheap!
The KISS principle at its best!
