Tired Agattu despite new battery.

I've just refurbished my 26V Kalkhoff Agattu with new wheels with roller brakes, 8spd Nexus and dynamo hub.
(~£225 + new brake levers suited for roller brakes)
My wife rides on the brakes, so I was constantly adjusting rim brakes and changing pads.
We have some muddy sections as well, which doesn't go so well with rim brakes. The 7spd Nexus had already been repaired once and was in need again.

I had to renew the battery cells again, because they had all puffed up, some had nearly burst.
They gave about 1½ season of service.
I used the same type of Zippy RC hobby cells again, which I took from one of my Yamaha batteries, where power and range was excellent.
The range used in the Agattu has not been tested yet, but the power is disappointing.

Could the Panasonic motor itself be in need of servicing with new grease, or is it better left alone?
The wheels, chain and rear sprocket are new, the brakes are not binding, the tensioner runs freely, only the motor sprocket is worn.

The use of the bike doesn't warrant forking out £££ for a completely new original or pattern battery.

Best left alone Erik, they are not intended to be serviced, there's almost nothing inside that can be and no internal spares are available. The circuit board is fully encapsulated and glued into the r/h crankcase half. I doubt greasing the nylon reduction gear would make any difference.

The software can be reset by a suitably equipped Panasonic e-bike dealer and that might be out of setting. I don't know if you'll have any in Denmark if you are still living there, if not, only getting into Germany will make that possible.
