after finally completing my bike, it needs a few tweaks here and there, one being a thumb throttle, as i find handling the bike a little hard with the twist throttle, as this sometimes slips on when im maneuvering the bike which isnt the best, plus im wanting to get a bit more control over the throttle,

I also think for safety it would be good to have a power switch up front, to kill all power from battery so was looking at these

my only reservation is im not sure with the battery power indicator which seems to stick out to the left, that my brake would fit on the space i have for my handle bars

these more flush ones would be the job but like the idea of the on off button

does anyone have any experience of thumb throttles? i want a pretty good one which will give me some good control over gradual speed. is there anything i need to consider when making my choice?

thanks

I use a thumb throttle, and I greatly prefer it to twist. I'm less likely to accidently give it some throttle while I'm pushing it over an obstacle.

I'd guess they're all about as good as each other, but if you want really good control over speed, think about a controller that allows a three-speed switch, such as the Infineon.

I don't use a battery power indicator; I think those blobs are just not giving me much information. Instead, I use a digital voltmeter, costs about £1 or so, duct taped to the middle of the handlebar.

Thumb throttle for me, riding mainly on bumpy off road tracks I can keep it steady where a twist throttle would be hard to keep in one place.
