I have a Freego Martin city with a central crank drive,(Bafang) motor . Dose anyone know if I can fit a Throttle push switch on it so I can use it without pedal assist, ? You can push the + button on the controls to make it walking assist, Any ideas would be appreciated. Looking forward to any feedback

I have the same motor in a different bike.

If yours is anything like mine (i.e. Freego didn't modify the software/controller) you should be able to use anything that works with the common-place BBSxx motors, including the thumb throttles and the Apps for increasing/changing performance/parameters.

I have the BBS01 which used to have a thumb throttle until I removed it for reasons of complying with the legal standards. It was plugged into a yellow julet connector. If you have a spare yellow coloured, male julet connector in your wiring harness from the motor, you can get one of these inexpensive thumb throttles, fit it to the bars and plug it in. Easy - but illegal, because if your motor is anything like mine, the throttle will give you power without pedalling and up to the maximum speed set in the controller. It becomes a moped according to the law.60310
