Just wondering what you Torq owners think of the refinements that are now applied to the new version of the Torq on 50 cycles website?

Front Suspension and Disc brakes, plus new motor and hill climbing??

John,
I'm not a Torq owner but in the market for a new bike. I noticed the new Torq on the 50 Cycles site and made some comments which led to a discussion here

It's now very close to being another F series bike John, albeit with less power but a somewhat improved Torq motor for hills. Only time will tell how effective that is.

I'm happy with most things about the original Torq. the new disc brake should satisfy those who are unhappy with the original brakes and the megarange gearing should satsfy many who have complained about gear ratios.
I am however very much a Luddite, being born in the next village to Ned Ludd, and would have prefered minimal changes, the machine is now so similar to the F series that I don't see how it fits into the range.

Between this and the two F series, this to me is the best bike from a consistency of design point of view as a sports bike. The Forte is well set up as a powerful and luxurious utility bike, though it's a pity there's no delimiting, but the Forza to me is the oddity.

It's clearly designed with a sports image in mind, viz the derailleur and ability to derestrict, but coupling that with the EAF and pedelec only just seems downright eccentric.

I suppose it will suit the sort of person who can't make their mind up what sort of bike they want.
