Third ebike?

I'm thinking about a new ebike, more than just functional. Cyclomatic was a much better ride than the Toba. Bike to be used for bulky shopping, up to 30 miles partly off road treks, many shorter journeys, frequently + 15 miles though. Toba good in towns because of the hub gears, awful on brideways (too heavy for the wheels), bad resistance to pedalling at 15 mph, unstable at 20+ mph downhill. I much prefer (20%) to buy from as local dealer who will service ebikes. (Shoreham-by-Sea).

I'm willing to pay more for a good bike with service availability. Maybe £2500 if its not so heavy and can pedal OK when 15 mph is reached. Derailleur as I want to be able to get the wheel off easily when puncturing a long way from home. I might be cautious of what type of brakes as well. I need a real 50 miles on maximum thrust. Shoreham near Brighton for local dealers.

I would have recommended the Woosh Camino with 17AH battery if you were not so far away. We have local helpers not too far away though who can deal with repairs.
The Camino weighs 23.3kgs all in, so it's considerably lighter than many fully equipped bikes, the 36V 17AH battery can give you 60 miles on a full charge.
It has a switchable throttle, 5 assist levels, large LCD, Suntour NEX suspension fork, Tektro hydraulic brakes with sensor, rack, full size mudguards, bell, lights and choice of saddle post.

On the shortlist. A bit worried about 700 wheels as the roads/paths found not be really good enough for my Toba. No road surface accidents, but one 20 mph blow out and another tricky situation where I got off and walked downhill. Cyclomatic with 26" wheels felt much safer and was a better ride. Kreiger on shortlist.

My current Toba is working OK for short trips, but I have never trusted it for long trips after a computer power failure miles from home. With winter approaching, I may wait a bit.

PS: 50% off road use, good quality paths, but loose gravel. Roads are even worse though.

Unless I am mistaken, your Toba has a rigid fork? Rigid forks are not as good on gravel as suspension forks.

Perseus I use a 700c Boardman CX with sus forks for 95% of my rides and pass down your neck of the woods by using the Downs link from Guildford or catch it at Copsale as well as transiting various trails on the S/downs I have little issue with 100mile/160km rides.
Simply fitting 42mm tyres gives a better ride and in the rear I use a double ended Gaadi tube and carry a spare to solve removing the wheel.

Lot to be said for a hard tail mountain bike that you or the dealer adds a rack and mudguards to. Just add rechargeable lights.

I would not overlook a good rear hub powered bike like the Oxygen.

Or a more modern version of your Toba with rack mudguards and lights built in.

The raleigh gives you the option of hub gears if that is something you prefer.

Its the extra weight of ebikes rather than the path surface that makes them difficult to handle on rough terrain. I did not anticipate this which is why the Toba was wrong.
