They (not me!) fell off my bike

Hi All

Two plastic caps ended up on the floor when I was moving my brand new Wisper 905sel. Any idea what they are from? Any info would be good.

Thanks

Don

hi Don what is the diameter of the cap? At first glance it looked like a front axle Nut Cover, but looking twice I think it looks too small.

I am absolutely delighted you are enjoying your Wisper Davanti, thanks for the business! The sel is a corker my favorite Wisper thus far. Unfortunately, I too have not got a clue what the caps are! I strongly suspect they are packaging of some description.

I have emailed Dick in Shanghai, and will let you know as soon as I do!

All the best

David :)

They could be the two end caps that fit on the end of the rear rack rods which secure the rack to the frame, holding it in the horizontal position.

Thank you David for your rapid response; particularly on a Bank Holiday Sunday! There is no panic, the bike is now performing well, after adjustment to the gears and chain by 'The Electric Transport Shop' in Cambridge.
Something that might be a clue concerning the 2 caps, is that when I returned from shopping yesterday (just one loaf & a newspaper!), the pannier (and bags) had slipped to the rear. Two (note the quantity 2) rods securing the front end of the pannier had become detached. The fasteners that had been securing (sic) the rods were loose. I reconnected the rods and tightened the fasteners. Could the caps have come from this area? If so, what must I do to return the bike to its original, but correct, status?
I attach another photo that shows the domed head of the caps.

Thanks again,

Don :)

PS Just seen Kenny's post. Looks as if you've confirmed my suspicion Kenny. Thank You. How should they be fitted?

Hi Don, They are normally just an easy push fit. It's pretty easy to lose one but they are just cosmetic really, to tidy up the blunt end of the rod.

Hello Davanti,
I have been reading your queries/comments with interest & am pleased that you now have your new bike.
I have a feeling you have been so busy with matters that you haven,t had time to fit that new mirror.I am keen to know if your handle bar end is the same as the 905se & if you managed to fit the mirror without cutting into the grip.
I have posted this query on another thread relating to mirrors & hoping not to cause confusion.
Keep Smiling,Regards, rotary.

Hi Rotary

The profile of the 905sel handle bar end worried me to begin with; it is sort of oval. However, that is only the rubber 'padding'. If you look directly end-on, you should see that there is a circular plug which can be teased out with the judicious use of a thin bladed knife. I hope your 905se has the same handle bar.

Bon Chance!
