Hi
my cycling on my e-ebike are fairly short trips ranging from 4 - 10 miles, most of the time I ride on cycle paths, through parks, local roads & occasionally pavements. I use pedal assist 90% of the time or no power at all at times.

Im finding that due to pot holes, dogs, kids & other hazards, i have to stop & start quite a lot. I was wondering does this kind of choppy, stop, start cycling have any impact on an ebike & its battery or motor?

Regards

With good pedal assist from a standstill or low speed to ease the load on the motor, it shouldn't have any ill effect on motor or battery. The main stress is suffered when the motor and battery are asked to do most or all of the work for getting back up to speed.
