mechanical: single speed. The competition: Nexus, SRAM, SA and NuVinci all can do better.
electric drive: weedy motor, rather limited range.
price: competitive against the GoCycle
capital: insufficient.Their seed capital is woefully inadequate. The crowdfunded money is not capital, it's just deposits for early sales and they pre-sold 100 bikes.
You need to commit to 1,000 units at least just to iron out bugs. 2,000 to 3,000 units to set up manufacturing and distribution.
I don't think there is sufficient demand in the market for this type of products to succeed.
