Hi everyone,
I would just like to say that I am now, finally, the proud owner of the first Diamond Frame Agattu in the country, as of one hour ago. At last, I hear you cry.. (the moaning will cease!) I must say it is a thing of joy and beauty. I would also like to say that 50cycles have been fantastic in delivering the bike within two days of it's arrival on our shores. The PDI was thorough and the delivery went smoothly. The only downside is that it is raining so hard here at the moment, I haven't managed to get the bike out of the house. Seems a bit early to get it soaking wet! It is parked in my living room and I've spent the last hour staring at it in utter disbelief that it has actually arrived.

One hour in, I have one question. The bike arrived with a partially charged battery 40-60%, 3 lights on. Should I run it as it is and discharge completely to condition, as recommended by Flecc and others, or should I fully charge before I do anything.. I'm sorry if this question has already been asked and answered.. I'm just too excited to look for it..

Once again, a big thanks to everyone who helped me through the long dark days waiting for its arrival.. and thanks too to 50cycles for bending over backwards to get the bike to me asap. :) :) :) :)

p.s. too wet to take a photo.. but I'll try and beat 50c and post asap.

Fully charge it before riding, until the five LEDs go out, the three lights won't be an accurate indication until you've gone through a full charge and full discharge first.

Enjoy!

I should have read this first, Music. Ignore my other message. Your patience has set you up a record. The first ever in England. Are you applying to the Guinness!

As to the battery. I confess to not having fully discharged mine. I've just never been far enough to empty it, and have been recharging every night regardless. I hope it hasn't done any great damage. To tell the truth I forgot until it was too late to worry about it.

I see that the pannier frame is the same as mine. Be aware that BikeBins, should you think about them, will fit a little awkwardly because of the diagonal strut sticking out a wee bit.

Alas this confounded rain is forecast to go on and on. It's driving me crazy as well!

Many congratulations and every possible best wish.

It won't hurt it. Two effects. First it delays the achievement of maximum capacity, second it defers the accurate calibration of the battery meter.

With an internal meter circuit, the battery needs to be taken to full charge and then down to empty for the meter to register what zero is. Until that's done it will be a bit less accurate. Even then they drift out over time and purist advice is to drain the battery again about every 30 charges. I don't think that's worth doing though, once in the early days is enough for practical purposes.

..Congratulations musicbooks, your excitement and joy is infectious! I shall be picking my bike up from 50c on April 5th when I get back from my break, and I am really looking forward to it. I must confess to feeling a little envious of you, but I wish you all the very best. Try not to dash out in your excitement and do something silly in the traffic won't you ? - especially if you've become addicted to that there "medication"(har, har)

Best regards, StrangeFish

Hey Musicbooks

I am really pleased that you finally got your bike and glad it ran smoothly on delivery.
I did the same as you,: Had Bike in living room just to the right of the TV for 5 days due to the rain and my uncertainty of taking it out for the first time.
Didn't know which to watch: Bike, TV, Bike, TV. Bike TV, the bike was far more interesting! I dunno, just couldn't take my eye's off it and couldn't wait to ride it.
Damn Rain!!
Have fun as I am sure you will and ween yourself off the meds :D Any left give em to me!
Mandy
