Dear all,

I've read, with some interest and confusion, the posts where people have decided to leave the forum or take a break etc. I have to say, I don't really know what prompted this and I suppose if I felt it was any of my business then I could look through the previous threads.

However, thanks to this forum, I have received so much advice and support on what bike to buy and how to set it up etc so that I now feel confident commuting rather than using a car - in fact, I will start my first cycle commute tomorrow. I know that I would not have made the plunge without the supportive environment that this forum provides.

The point of this email? Well, firstly to thank those of you who have taken the time to respond to my postings - you have (and no doubt will continue) to make a difference. Secondly, just to say that forums are great for providing support but when arguments break out, it results in a permanent record of, sometimes hurtful, comments which are often regretted straight away. The fact that many of you respond to newbies like me means that you do care and have a commitment to these bikes so, as a newbie, please don't leave the forum and deny us your experience and knowledge.

I've gone on a bit now...apologies.

This is what i think is important helping people avoid wasting sometimes £1000+ on a bike that is unsuitable for them, some sellers change with the wind according to which model they are selling, often exagerating the performance of their ebikes .

Exactly Paul. I knew nothing about these bikes but knew that this would be the only way I would get back into cycling (given the big hill on the way to work) so this forum has been invaluable in getting at least one car off the road (hopefully)!
