I've just realised, my tenth anniversary of Pedelecs membership came and went in April. Over the last ten years it's been a joy to see how far this wonderful site has come. My hearty congratulations go to Russ and Helen for doing such a great job in helping us all to make ebikes in the UK recognised as a real force.

All the best, David

Bit smarmy, David, but true enough.

One thing I like about this place is forum members are generally polite, even-tempered and friendly.

I suspect that's partly because most of us, to coin an old phrase, are old enough to know better.

It does mean the forum trundles along with very little moderation, compared to one or two others on which several mods are kept quite busy sorting out various squabbles.

Yes it is generally polite and friendly at the moment, but it has had its fair share of squabbles over the years, and all of the people involved were old enough to know better,at times people have left the forum in disgust over long running arguments or even been banned,so yes it is a likeable place at the moment, just watch some b****** spoil it.

The only serious problem in my Pedelec forum living memory was Eddieo(RIP) and Indalo - both banned.

That's a fairly limited rap sheet in comparison to other forums.

You've been on here a lot longer than me, so will know a bit more.

Just wish I had come across this site 10 years ago.....I would have ditched the car for commuting way back :)
If you had been researching electric bikes 10 years ago,you probably would have found it just as easily, back then there was not so much interest in ebikes, but flecc was here along with a lot of other enthusiasts of the time,as an early adopter you may well have gone back to commuting by car, ebiking was not working out as a cheap commute,a scooter or motor bike usually worked out cheaper over time, people were often spending £1200+ on a bike, with a dodgy lithium battery that was dying after less than 12 months, with a £300+ replacement cost and dealers that were giving in some cases, just 6 month warranties on batteries, then wringing there hands of any responsibillity, the early years were probably best watched.

And shorter sentences.

Thank you David, very much a community effort !
It is a community and a great one at that, but with all such ventures, someone is needed as the catalyst to start it off and then run it. To create such a wonderful facility takes a lot of effort.
Bit smarmy, David, but true enough.
I admit it, it was smarmy but I meant it!

All the best, David

Speaking of Eddieo, his son ecently contacted, Eddie's Riese and Muller Delite is for sale. it's a couple of years old, meticulously looked after and will be a good price for a good home.

If anyone's interested please drop me an email.

All the best, David
