Hi all,

I was driving late last night about 11:45pm through Marble Arch, when i had noticed through my rear view mirror a cyclist approaching me very quickly. I looked carefully again and realised that he was not moving his legs at all, stopping at the red traffic light i rolled down my window and asked him what is the wattage of his bike,i had to repeat myself to him at least three times and the reason for this is because one he had a motor cycle helmet on,secondly he was also foreign and bearly understood what i was asking him.

Soon after the traffic lights had turned to green then he was off peddling away(bike was throttle control),also he had managed to say before moving off that his bike was 800watts.
After tailing behind him for about 200 yards,he then had turned off to the left heading onto the motorway,in my opinion the bike was moving quite fast and in the middle of the road.

What are your thoughts on this,is here attracting any attention?

He certainly would do on the M4 motorway! If the police saw him there it would be more "What!" than Watt.

cwah does not post so much these days. As frustrated as I often got with his post overall he was a great addition if not sometimes of concern to the forum.

If he was pedalling along at less than 20mph,then he would have attracted zero attention, even a slight downhill section, can be covered very quickly with a semi fit rider on an assisted bike, only a non pedalling rider exceeding 20mph uphill, would be likely to even get a second glance from the police,if you pedal along or at least pretend to it is a bit like a magic trick, you will not be noticed even if you overtook a lycra at speed uphill, anybody following behind in a car would be speechless and unable to work out how it had happened.

I've been known to fake "exertion" - i.e. pretend to be out of breath, hot, sweaty etc on occasion :)

In certain areas of the country, that sort of question can earn you a punch on the nose and if you do the same in a public convenience, you will attract attention from the authorities.

Therefore if a person is genuinely lost and winds their window down and asking for directions, will they also get a punch on the nose? And as for the authorities,if they saw that person throwing a punch then suddenly that will attract all the attention to them. 50 Hertz you seem to be a bit timid and on the edgy side sort it out mate.

Or told to just get on with it, there are people waiting.
I've never had much luck when I've been out dogging. The couple always drive off when the traffic lights change, leaving me standing in middle of the road with my trousers around my ankles.

I've never heard of traffic lights being in the woods,or are you talking about the red light district?
