These are certainly the most expensive pool noodles you can buy.
Have to say that after fitting them on both front and rear, it changed the bike. For me, it seems a smoother, easier and less crashy ride. The tyres seem more rounded and less deformation under load, which either gives less rolling resistance or I'm gradually getting better at riding
I saw some discussion on here about dealing with punctures on the go, and Tannus were mentioned. I'd only suffered two on the journey punctures. Thankfully not too far from home and walkable, but my son was available to pick me and the bike up. Yay! for a foldable bike. The second one was literally yards from home. I choose to carry a spare tube rather than a repair kit. Have the repair kit at home to reuse the flat, but don't repair in the field.
Maybe a coincidence, but seeing a less crashy ride, and previously having broke two spokes before fitting the armour, but so far none since.
Fitting the armour is not pleasant. They come folded in the box and need wrangling into the tyre. I was tempted to stick them in hot water to take out the kinks, but was concerned they may stretch. Then wrangling the tube into the armour, which now leaves a much smaller cavity for the tube. Finally, having to battle the armour and tube onto the rim, keeping the armour lips from bunching up.
But after many weeks of running them, I'm much happier than I was before.
Just to show what a noob I am. Here is the tyre all fitted and done with the armour and tube. Right before I realised I had the tread the wrong way and had to take it off and do it again
