the concept is great though. Compared to the delayed Copenhagen wheel project, this one has all the pluses: triple chainrings, Isis cranks, mobile phone link, no wiring, and none of the minuses: in-wheel battery, low torque DD motor, single speed. And the 1.5kg weight! wow! I am willing to bet they use one of those RC airplanes' motors.

Joking aside, I was impressed when I read the specs and saw how neat it is.

sorry. copyright laws allow excerpts though.
The link to the source of the excerpt is now in place in the previous post.
edit:
thinking about this, we don't need to argue about dos and don'ts concerning copyright laws, I removed the post.

thanks Shemozzle999.
I suppose we're so used to copy and paste - and forget the implications.
You have always been scrupulous with your posts, should be a model for us all.

Why would they object since it's giving the new motor publicity?

Technically he may be right but common sense would say otherwise.

The copyright in the article is vested in Bicycle Retailer, it is nothing to do with the maker of the motor.

For this purpose, Bicycle Retailer couldn't give a stuff about the motor, but they might care about their intellectual property.

A link to their site is fine, and as Trex says, excerpts for the purpose of review/criticism are also fine.

It's never been defined how long an excerpt can be, so I always keep them brief - a sentence or two.

it was one sentence put inside a quote block to make clear that it was a quote but I forgot to put in a link to the source, assuming readers will know that it comes from the link in the OP. In effect, not clearly acknowledging the copyrights owners.
Embedding picture via URL linking to an external website is also a grey area.
It's not clear cut whether we should add a legend 'picture from such website' when doing so.
As Shemoz said, he noticed it simply because it's his thread.
Must be more careful in the future.

don't you like pancakes?
The good thing about CD motors is the sprag clutch. Its low friction makes unassisted pedalling so appealingly natural.
