Firstly thank you for having me, and hello all members. I purchased this electric bike a couple of days ago. The kit was installed brand new by the seller who's done multiple installs. After only 51 miles I've got the error 10 on the SW900 display and no throttle. I think it's either a faulty controller or screen. I can find the screen no problem but struggling to find a matching controller with the same battery connections. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Its a 1000w motor with a 48v 13a battery.

Thank you kindly.

It might be worth testing the motor before you buy a new controller. details of how to do that are shown in this thread from post #4 onwards. You don'y need the extra cable because you can test on the connectors you have. the other guy had the sealed connector:

Thank you, this is my first electric bike. I was thinking maybe it's a motor fault. But error 10 apparently is a communication error which I was told to test without the motor connected and it still appeared.

It was running fine then it just stopped at 51 miles. I felt the controller, which was extremely warm. Like it had overheated possibly?

If I can find a matching controller I will still purchase as a spare for future repairs. Should it not fix me issue.

It is a communication error, but what's causing it. It can be a damaged cpu in the LCD or controller or the cable connecting them, water in the throttle or any other connector, any short on the 5v line, damaged motor wire, blown mosfets in the controller, a short in the motor, water in the motor, any other motor fault, blown 5v regulator in the controller, and a load more that I can't think of at the moment. The cause may well be in the controller, but you're going to feel a bit silly if you waste a bit of money when it isn't and you destroy your new controller too.

Your controller is just a standard cheapo Chinese one. You can find them in Aliexpress or Ebay with the LCD. It's always best to buy as a pair unless you're sure that they work with your LCD.

Thank you. So any controller will work as long as its the same 48v and 1000w? Doesn't matter about the amps? I assume as long as more then the battery amps. Then just replace the battery connectors to match those from my battery.

Probably easier if you get one with the same connectors as you already have for the motor, which means nearly all of them. If you want to use a pedal sensor, we always recommend KT controllers, which are a bit more expensive than some, but give very nice pedal control.

The lad didn't install a pedal sensor. They all have the same motor connectors, it's the battery connectors that are different. Have you any recommendations on which controller to purchase? Maybe a link to point me in the right direction. It would be highly appreciated.
