Question.
Is it worth serving my own forks or taking to bike shop to fix.
One side is leaking a bit.

Hmmm... as far as I remember you had a rigid fork. Not much to service there... or leak.

Unless it was weeping a lot of oil, I would just wipe it and ride on. One of my motorbikes has passed four MOTs with a leaking front fork. I just make sure that before the test, I clean it up and as I arrive at the test centre, I give it a shifty last wipe. The tester passes it without advisories every time.

On the motorbike, the job of seal replacement is a bit of a pain. I have some seals, and will use them one day when it gets too bad. Until then, a bit of kitchen roll in the pocket does the job fine.

Bike forks are very easy to service yourself. You should be able to buy a service kit that includes the bushes and seals. First thing is to identify which forks you have. You have to drain out the oil and replace it too with the right grade. The fork manufacturer will indicate the grade on their website.
