We don't know a lot about them Keith.

The "special" thing is that they use the first Lithium Iron ( LiFePO4 ) battery to reach these shores on an e-bike.

This type has the potential to be very good, but it's been difficult to get them right for production and so far they only seem to be in very small sizes like that handlebar pack.

As a result the motor is low power, so they won't be setting any pulses racing. Possibly ok as a shopping bike in a fairly flat area, but I'd be hesitant to be the first to buy, especially as they don't seem too willing to submit them for a review.

oh its the "low power" that has already put me off, ive got a 24 volt synergie forlder and thats very much "low power" unable to get 36 volt on it and with the rubbish far too low gear ratio on it i have twice had it into bike shop for modifications, firstly a new smaller set of cog gear things(not a bike expert eh) at the back where the chain goes round, plus a new chain, this first experiment did nothing so had it back in and had a new very much larger front chain wheel put on it, now tomorrow is first full trial but the little bit of riding i have done there is a definate improvement on speed in assist mode, instead of the 11.5mph for the same speed of peddaling i think im getting 14mph which is as good as i could expect, the big problem i have now is that there is no free wheel on this bike, if i pedal without assist there is loads of motor friction as though it never actually disengages even when not in power mode....

extra energy.co.uk tested a sunrunner,in their 2007 test,if you go on their site, you can download the test results of this, and several other bikes.they give hill climb assist figures, and achieved range on both flat and hills, good to be able to compare actual figures, and very suprising just how few miles were achieved on their not very steep hill route,on all of the bikes tested, just over 4 miles was enough to flatten most batteries.

Do you have the full web address for extra energy? Dave Kiddy who runs Sunrunner bikes lives quite close to me (about 10 miles) & I tried the Sunrunner folder a couple of months ago. I'd be really interested in reading the report. I though the bike looked well put together, but had concerns about the battery size and pulling power of the motor. In the end bought the Ciao from CH White & son. Wasn't too sure at first, but now really like it.

try click the Gepida line at the bottom, looks like a nice bike, not much detail but i think we will have to wait until aldby gets one (unlimited funds it seems !) to make a firm decision as to how good it is. ;)
