Hello
I have an old Lafree & aim to purchase two light weight Step Thru machines with longer range. I am not keen on suspension, would prefer a disc front brake and hub gears plus good lights and hope not to spend over 2k the pair; near enough is good enough and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Nick

The eZee Sprint Primo with the 14 Ah battery option in place of the 8 Ah might fit the bill if the 3 speed hub gear is ok for you Nick. £750 as standard but should be below £1000 with the larger battery. The system also has a twin battery option for very long range should you wish to add that in future.

The Juicybike Classic is another one that has a much larger battery option within your budget, but it doesn't have a hub gear.

Many thanks Flecc; both look very good for the price. Anyone know anything about reliability and service?

Both companies have a good record for service and are active in the forum helping their own and other brand customers. My bikes are eZee models so I can vouch for them, the latest models having very many upgrades since I bought mine. Although I have no personal experience of the Juicybike models, they are based on the well known and widely used Suzhou Bafang motor system so should be reliable on the electricl side, the bicycle side not normally a problem of course.

Another option, Kudos Bicycles have a good range of reasonably priced e-bikes, including step-throughs. Again Kudos are active in the forum.

Hi Nick,

Bad news and good news I am afraid, the stepthru version of the eZee Sprint Primo has sold out, it proved far more popular than we anticipated. The good news is that we will have more on our next consignment arriving at the end of June and they will be available at the beginning of July with the option of battery upgrades if required.

If you would like to know what others think about Cyclezee, eZee bikes and kits, please have a look herehttp://www.cyclezee.com/testimonials.html

Hi Nick
It would be a good idea to try any bike you are thinking of buying.
We have our full range in stock and available to ride.
If you take a look at our website you might find a dealer near you.
Otherwise you're always welcome to visit our own store, Eco Republic in either Buxton or New Mills.
