The sprag clutch on my MAC motor has started to stick.
I believe it is a sprag type, do please correct me if I am wrong
Bike still works fine, but have lost some of that wonderful free-wheeling action.

I have a spare to replace this one, but was wondering if you can service these units?
Or once they start sticking, is that the end for the unit?

I think the proper name for it is "roller clutch"

You could try cleaning and regreasing it, but I think you have to remove it for that. There's a couple of threads on ES how to get it off. Once off, you might as well replace it with your spare because you've done all the hard work. Make sure the new one's checked and greased before putting it on.

Thanks d8veh, a couple of ES members did mention that they stuck, then became unstuck again after a few more miles.
I'll have to take a look at the anatomy of a roller clutch, to see what might have failed.
Was mistakenly looking at sprags.
You're right in saying just replace it. Shame it's a slight PITA taking it all apart.
I did ride across some proper rough ground recently under power, so I think that's what killed it :(
Would I need to slap some grease on the centre bearing part, as well as the rotating gears?
Also, will it be ok to ride it in this state? The only downside I can think of is less free-wheel action.

With goodwill on all sides I am sure that the sticky sprag clutches have a future. It will, however. require less use of pesticides and ban on the import of the Peruvian smooth sprag clutch, which is ruining its' natural habitat.
